■ Method
An exploration page that shows preprocessed public research data in the browser. No trained model; rule-based computation and visualization only
Emotion coordinates: mean ratings (1–9) of English words from the Glasgow Norms placed on −1 to +1 with (mean − 5) ÷ 4 (set formula). Clicking an empty spot or moving the sliders picks the nearest word by distance. Coordinates never interpolate or scale the brain maps
Brain maps: 6 Neurosynth legacy term meta-analysis association-test z maps (FDR 0.01 corrected). Positive voxels sampled every other voxel per axis on a 4 mm grid (set value). Raw z-values, no per-map normalization. The color range z 0–15+ is shared by all emotions (set value)
Region summary: for each region of the Harvard–Oxford maximum-probability atlas (25% threshold, 2 mm), the largest positive z and its MNI coordinate. Cortex split into left and right at x < 0 / x > 0. White matter, whole cortex, ventricles and brainstem excluded. The marked point is the peak, not the region's center
3D brain: ICBM152 2009a gray + white matter probability isosurface (threshold 0.38, Gaussian σ 0.65 voxel, marching cubes step 2, set values) · 44,510 vertices · 89,096 faces
Light flow: glows at region peaks, particles circling between regions and afterglow are a visual effect. Paths, speed and pulsing are not real neural connections or signals. ‘Study locations’ mode shows only the sampled source coordinates
Region notes: general-function explanations with sources for 20 region families, matched by region-name patterns
No training · preprocessing in Python (NumPy 2.5.4, SciPy 1.18.1, nibabel 5.4.2, scikit-image 0.26.0) · page uses Three.js 0.170.0 and hand-written JavaScript · run 20261023T150356Z (Neurosynth map retrieval)
No LLM in the service. All numbers are computed by code. Korean glosses, examples and region notes are editorial copy written for the service; the English text is a translation of that copy made with Claude (Anthropic) and reviewed

Nature: public data (measured word ratings, literature summaries) + hand-written (glosses, examples, region notes)
Visitor input: the chosen emotion, coordinates and view settings are stored only in this browser (localStorage). Nothing is sent to a server; no personal data
Coordinates and values of 1,888 points and peaks substituted back into the source NIfTI: max error 0.00005 (rounding level)
31 words: source SHA, coordinate conversion (error below 1e-8), comparison-word links and links to the 6 maps all pass
All 85 left/right atlas region names map to a note and sources
Max z per map: fear 16.21 · happy 12.14 · anxiety 9.95 · anger 8.90 · sad 8.72 · pleasant 8.57. Regions passing the display threshold: pleasant 55 · fear 53 · anger 43 · happy 36 · sad 35 · anxiety 33. Study counts and tasks differ, so these do not compare emotion strength
Automated page check (headless Chromium, 390 and 1280 px × Korean and English): horizontal overflow 0 px, console errors 0, Korean lines left in English 0, Afraid shows 363 papers, Calm shows 0 regions (no substitute map)
English dictionary 314 sentences, 0 Korean page or data sentences missing
Training/evaluation split: not applicable (no training). No accuracy metric
■ Scope
31 English emotion words, 6 of them linked to brain research maps. Word coordinates come from English word ratings by 829 native English speakers at the University of Glasgow, not Korean-language norms. Nobody's feelings or brain activity are measured
